The Twini family is extremely proud of Denise Bingham and Gayle Windrim, who reached the final of the Port Natal Novice Pairs, hosted by Berea Bowling Club on 20 November 2009 against a vastly more experienced Stella Park team. Denise (skip) has been bowling for less than 2 years and Gayle for under a year. The good turnout of Twini supporters were treated to a hum-dinger, the Twini Ladies not giving up until the end, eventually going down 11-18 after 21 ends. Congratulations to them on being runners-up in this prestigious tournament. Watch our girls next year...........

Gayle Windrim and Denise Bingham after their tense semi-final victory against Berea Bowling Club

After many instances of the old chairs breaking under the weight of members, new chairs were recently delivered. Here they are load-tested by Alf "Porky" Bingham and given the thumbs-up!

Twini has become famous for the prizes on offer at the monthly Men's 2-4-2, played on the 1st Thursday of each month. Thanks to the sponsor's Scorgie Paints, M.B. Protective Coatings and Pick n Pay, Athlone Park, this was the feast up for grabs at the "Turkey Trot" on 1 October 2009.

Long time - no see - hello out of a chilly Johannesburg. Miss you guys a lot. Other clubs here are not the same - they either play bowls or they imbibe - some of them appear to be drinking holes with 3 greens just for show. I thought that Twini guys could gargle - but some clubs here will put you guys in the fridge. Even Scorgie! Please send me some news - I'm dying out here in the wilderness. If you guys keep me informed, I'll try to spend a little time on the website - it needs a little updating. OK cheers for now - and regards to all of you.
