"Barflies" is a social game of bowls played on the first Sunday of every month starting at 09h00 (registration from 08h00). It is usually a "fours" format and the teams are randomly selected, with many "first-time" bowlers coming along to join in the excitement. 2 games of 10 ends each are usually played, with a drink and snack break at half time. After the game we enjoy a few refreshments and often a boerewors roll other light snacks are available. Prize-giving follows and the fun usually ends by 15h00.

All are welcome to play in casual clothing, but must have flat soled shoes, or otherwise you are most welcome to play barefoot.

Many of the club's members joined the bowling club as a result of the great fun experienced at the Barflies social event.

An annual Christmas Barflies event is held where most of the proceeds are donated to charity.
