On 5th and 6th September 2009 the Annual Kokstad tournament, sponsored by Span Africa was graced by the presence of 2 teams of intrepid travellers from Twini.

The 2 teams were John Mitchley, Glen Scorgie, Terry Morgan and Dallas Davis and Vince Marriott, Peter Callaghan, Alf Bingham and Doug Joubert. They departed Twini around 10.30 Friday, 4th September (Alf Bingham even being more punctual than John Mitchley!) and arrived back a little worse for the wear on Monday, 7th September. The actual tournament consisted of 2 games of 21 ends each on Saturday and another 2 games of 21 ends on Sunday against tough opposition from Durban, Pmb and the likes.

Although the actual quality of the bowls left a lot to be desired (the planned trailers to lug the prizes home were fortunately not required!) the Twini teams were definitely the best dressed teams on show, with all players sponsoring in some way. The Twini teams were also (obviously!) amongst the most diligent supporters of the bar!
